Annie Smith
Annie began playing the guitar, with a school friend, when she was a teenager living in Norfolk. Her repertoire consists of a variety of songs, a bit of whatever’s out there! She says that she's always chasing new material, 'anything which complements my voice and technique.'
Her favourite artists are James Taylor, Kate Rusby, Beth Nielsen Chapman, John Denver and Mary Black, to name but a few. Annie loves guitars and she reckons that she's possibly had more of them than hot dinners! She says that the kitchen walls always get her best performance although, having seen her in action at the club, there are many in our audiences who wouldn't agree.
She finds Bingham Folk Club to be very welcoming and inspiring, but she is also a member of the Carrington Triangle Folk Club in Nottingham and performs in various other venues.
