Steve Fox

Steve is originally from Wigan in Lancashire, but has lived in Bingham for quite a few years.

He took up the guitar at the age of 16 after joining Wigan Folk Club and being totally sold on the different types of music played there, particularly traditional folk and ragtime.

Steve was influenced at that time by the music of Bert Jansch and John Renbourne of the group Pentangle, and also by Tom Paxton.
He had a long period of inactivity on the guitar, but started to play again around 1991.

He likes a wide range of music, and tries to do a variety of material at Bingham Folk Club, though he confesses to still being a fairly reluctant performer at times! As well as being a solo performer, Steve also plays rhythm guitar with 'The Blue Mountain Band' and has enjoyed doing a few pub gigs with them.
