Trevor Marriott

Trevor spent his teenage years in the early sixties playing in a local band called 'Hardy Smith's Dance Band', and was also in other local beat groups. During this time he played at many dance halls in the Mansfield area, including Mansfield Palace. He had the privilege to appear on the same bill as many rock and roll legends, including Gene Vincent, The Barron Knights and local Blues heroes Ten Years After (who famously appeared at the Woodstock festival).

While playing with a local group - The Newtones - Trevor appeared on the Midlands TV programme 'For Teenagers Only'. This was a twenty minute programme on a Tuesday evening featuring two beat groups back to back. This, however, didn't lead to greater things and his interests eventually widened to include Folk music.

For many years Trevor's musical outlet was dormant, but in recent years it has been rekindled and he and his wife (Muriel) attend Bingham Folk Club where they enjoy an evening of varied music and friendly banter.
